All of our belongings are packed up and we'll be moving to England next week! I won't be seeing my sewing machine for quite a while, but I'm looking forward to getting all settled and hopefully having some sewing time in a month or so!

Birds
Here is another basic t-shirt I made with some fun bird fabric I bought from Girl Charlee. I think I have finally perfected my t-shirt pattern to fit me just right (I made a few more tweaks after making this shirt) and I'm glad to have something I know fits that I can use as a starting point for lots of different projects.

Sew-vivor Prize!
I was so excited to win 3rd place in the Sew-vivor competition, and I got a really awesome prize package! Thanks to all the great sponsors, I was able to stock up on some beautiful fabric and try out some new sewing patterns!
Top to Bottom: Salmon Lycra Jersey - Fabric Fairy, Multicolor Stripes - Fashionable Fabrics, Navy Chevron - Fashionable Fabrics, bottom four cotton prints - Raspberry Creek Fabrics

Solids - The Ribbon Retreat
I'm excited to sew some cute dresses and button-up shirts for my kids, and I already used the black lycra jersey to make my maxi dress. Thanks so much to all the sponsors!!

Maxi Dress
I love wearing skirts and dresses in the summer, and I've been wanting a maxi dress for a while. I got this black Lycra jersey knit from the Fabric Fairy using my Sew-vivor prize gift card, and it is really great fabric! It has great stretch and recovery and is really comfortable. I used my basic t-shirt pattern and added the skirt with an elastic waistband casing using this tutorial. I included side pockets and a pocket on the front. I really love it and I want to wear it every day!
I have since made a shorter version and a maxi dress for Anna that I'll show soon!

Stripes
I had just enough fabric left over from my cardigan to make a nice loose t-shirt. The stripes on the back are vertical out of necessity since I didn't have quite enough fabric to
lay the pattern pieces out all horizontally, but I love the interest it adds. I'm still trying to perfect my basic t-shirt pattern, but I'm pretty happy with this one!

Craft Sale
Last weekend I did a little craft sale with some friends. I had my baby shoes, quilt, and stamped dishtowels to sell. It was a lot of fun, and we all made a few sales and got to talk about sewing and crafting for a few hours! :) I do have some products left over, so I guess I'm stocked up on baby shower gifts for a while... :)

Painted Dishtowels
I've made these painted dishtowels a few times now, and I really love them. I buy the thin flour sack towels and then use fabric paint to stamp the designs on. I think the polka dots are my favorite, but I like the circles, too, and it doesn't take much paint at all!

Cloth Baby Shoes
I've been working on more projects for a craft sale I'm a part of tomorrow. I made nine pairs of these adorable cloth baby shoes to sell. I bought the Lilac baby booties pattern (which also comes rights to sell the product) from ithinksew and
was really pleased with it. They are fully reversible and sewed up really quickly. I used some leather scraps for most of the soles, and I love how they look!

Baby Quilt
I've been sewing a few things to sell at a craft sale next weekend. I put this baby quilt together with a bunch of floral scraps I have had for a while. I love the fabrics, but there wasn't enough of any one of them to really make anything with them. I'm so glad I finally used them and I love how this little quilt turned out!
I used a pink and white polka dot cotton for the back, and did a simple chevron quilting pattern that looks really cute from the front and the back! I hand stitched the binding. The final size is about 30 inches square.
I really love how it turned out and would be tempted to keep it if I had a little baby girl! :)

Boy Shorts
I finally finished up some shorts for Matthew that I've had sitting around for a while. They are simple flat front and elastic waist back, and are soft and comfortable so he will actually wear them! He helped me design a few summer t-shirts, too. This one is just an iron on image of Iron Man. I don't sew as much for Matthew because it is so easy to find cheap shorts and t-shirts. But it is fun to add a few homemade things and personalized touches here and there.
